Lisa Armstrong

We asked Lisa Armstrong, British author, journalist and Head of Fashion at The Telegraph (as well as two times winner of British Press Awards Fashion Journalist of the Year), on how she's keeping sane during the lockdown.

WHERE ARE YOU WRITING THIS?

On the dining table. I'm self-isolating with my husband and elder daughter in the Oxfordshire countryside. We've each managed to carve out a separate work space for ourselves.

WHERE ARE YOU DREAMING OF GOING AS SOON AS THE QUARANTINE ENDS?

My younger daughter is on a gap year in Sydney. Can't wait to give her a hug - anywhere will do

WHAT QUOTE/ MANTRA / MINDFULNESS GO TO IS GETTING YOU THROUGH THIS?

Count your blessings

WHAT IS KEEPING YOU LAUGHING?

@barrysbanterbus @garryjanetti . nora ephron. always

WHAT WON’T YOU EVER TAKE FOR GRANTED AGAIN POST QUARANTINE?

Being able to roam all over London.

WHAT SMALL BUSINESSES ARE YOU LOVING AND WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A SHOUT TO?

So many small fashion brands frantically pivoting. All those British labels that do great clothes and deserve to survive. My local bookshop in Queen's Park that is now delivering.

WHAT RESTAURANT WILL BE YOUR FIRST MEAL POST QUARANTINE?

Any one of the wonderful village pubs round here - the Victoria in East Leach is a particular favourite as it's midway on a wonderful walk we do all the time. I really hope they survive.

WHAT IS KEEPING YOU ENTERTAINED - PRINT OR DIGITAL?

Obviously The Telegraph, both online and print. The Spectator, The New York Times.

WE ARE CALLED THE DECK – WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE CARD GAME?

Gin Rummy. My housebound granny taught  all her grandchildren decades ago . The games would go on for days with us in our pjs. We were self isolating without realising.

WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM SUIT LOOK LIKE?

A white tuxedo - madly impractical because it's a dream.

WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING ON NETFLIX?

Mrs Maisel, all the new films that are being released, Sadler’s Wells ballet screening and looking forward to the National Theatre's ones that start next week.

WHAT ARE YOU READING?

The Hilary Mantel, Bloom (a year round  guide to having flowers growing in your garden), Teach Yourself Drawing, and all the numerous self-help/spiritual books I started and never finished.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR SKINCARE REGIME? THE PRODUCTS YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT.

Scrupulous about this - cleansing, serums, HA, oils, moisturiser, facial massage with a gua sha stone. My favourite brands are Alexandra Soveral and Votary.

YOUR GO TO VITAMINS?

Probiotics, Iron sub lingua spray, Vitamin D, all from victoriahealth.com

WHAT IS YOUR HOME WORKOUT OF CHOICE?

balletbeautiful.com, zoom sessions with nypilates.com  and yogaloft.com (they're both  in London) and the amazing daily free classes on heartcore's insta stories. Plus a glorious daily walk in the countryside where the 200 meter rule is easy to apply.
